The Second China Postgraduate International Chinese Education Case Competition was held at East China Normal University in Shanghai from Oct 18 to 19. A team from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), led by Associate Professor Han Chao and comprising four postgraduate students in International Chinese Education, won the national second prize.
Since its launch in May this year, the competition attracted 854 teams from 285 universities from both home and abroad.
BIT's award-winning project, "From Scenery to Text: Exploring the Practice of Empowering Advanced Chinese Writing Instruction with 720° VR", stood out among the entries.
The case study presents the practical application of virtual reality technology integrated into teaching Chinese as a second language writing. It demonstrates effective ways in which VR technology can enhance writing instruction, identifies existing challenges, and explores the development of a diverse interactive teaching model to improve the effectiveness of technology empowerment.
In the future, BIT will further deepen the reform of its training model, strengthen the integration and innovation of the university's artificial intelligence features with international Chinese education, and enhance the quality of talent cultivation, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of international Chinese education.
